There have been many rumors on whether Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) will have Super Hi vision (SHV) capability, the next High-definition. What is SHV? SHV basically is capable of 7680 x 4320 resolution. So what does that number mean to you exactly? All you need to do is to picture this: 16 HDTV screens arranged in a 4 x4 array. That is what SHV is equivalent to. It's huge! You can learn more about SHV here.

While High-definition has become more popular and widely used, and SHV will replace HD in the years to come. PlayStation 3 is now equipped with HD, and brings vivid image to your home HDTV. Can you imagine the next generation PlayStation 4 have the Super Hi vision capability? Although PS4 is rumored to be introduced in around 2011~2012, SHV will not be starting a public-private partnership to develop technology for SHV in beginning in 2015 according to the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
From the previous news and rumors, Sony intends on keeping costs down with the PS4, and will be cheaper, slimmer and more energy efficient. The SHV technology for sure will bring up the cost of PS4 if Sony is considering using SHV service. There are cost and timing difference between the merge of PS4 and SHV, I would say the chance is very very low.....almost NO WAY. Although it would be nice to have it!
What do you all think?
