    I really don’t the PS4 console being released anytime before 2012/2013, I think the general opinion amongst gamers is that the PS3 has plenty of life in it yet. Furthermore, let us not forget that the “Slim” PS3 was only recently released.

    i am going to buy a ps3 slim 250gb tomorrow do you think it is worth it or should i wait for the ps4 does anyone have a rough idea of when the ps4 is going to come out

    That’s a hard one. No official word has come from Sony regarding a time frame that I’m aware of since the “10 year” statement. A PS4 of some kind is a certainty, imho, within the next 3 years. However, this year or the next would be far-fetched. The PS3 has yet to hit it’s potential thus far, so there’s plenty of money to be made for Sony to prolong the release. Which is good. Maybe they’ll get it just right. If I were you I’d buy the slim.

    Yes we’re all excited to see what’s next, but lets be realistic…
    the ps3 is the only 3D ready console, and will only require a software upgrade. Next it’s the only console using blu-ray disc which means when microsoft releases there next console we’ll finally be seeing games at a new level on the ps3. Furthermore no game has yet to optimally use the cell processor so lets give a steady 2 to 3 more years before we see a ps4.

    The ps3 was definitely before its time. Its like Sony skipped a generation going from ps2 to ps3.

    I definitely agree with that last statement and with the PS3 selling surprisingly well lately another couple years is probably a closely accurate assumption. I can almost guarantee there won’t be a PS4 next year. After that, who knows…
