According recent news from Play-Mag, they state that Sony have been working on the Sony PlayStation 4 or PS4 for longer than 2 years and they are expecting Sony will release its next generation console by around 2011 or 2012 and possibly with lower price.
As for the hardware, the PS4 will likely be powered by Cell, or a variant. The graphic processing is likely to come from nVidia or another chip manufacturer in order to keep the cost down. The PS4 is also likely to be able to process real 3D imagery and Super High Definition. The dual shock controller might go away and Sony is planning to use voice and movement recognition controller instead.
